Lucius B Rice

Lucius B. Rice was a resident of Dundee, Illinois, who served as a Private in Company C of a Kane County regiment during the Civil War. He was mustered out of service on October 10, 1864, alongside several other men from Dundee. Little else is currently documented about his life before or after his military service.

Known Activities

Rice served as a Private in Company C, a unit drawn primarily from Elgin and surrounding Kane County towns, including Dundee. According to the History of Kane County, Ill. (Joslyn, 1908), he was among six soldiers from Dundee who served together in Company C, the others being Oscar Babcock, William Christoph, Nathan B. Peterson, George Perry, and Charles Pettit.
