Known Activities
According to the Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and History of Kane County (1904), Goodnow was the first physician to locate at Dundee, doing so in 1837. The same source notes that physicians across Kane County during this early period served not only as medical practitioners but as active leaders in developing the civic and commercial enterprises of their localities. Whether Goodnow participated in such broader community roles in Dundee is not recorded. (Source: Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and History of Kane County (1904))
