Anson J Buck

Anson J. Buck (born 1832, Hannibal, N.Y.) was a Civil War veteran, lawman, and public official who spent much of his adult life in the Dundee and Carpentersville area of Kane County, Illinois. He is notable for his service in the 53rd Illinois Volunteer Infantry, an extended tenure as Deputy Sheriff of Kane County, and repeated appointment as Postmaster at Carpentersville under two presidential administrations.
